Flameriver leapt to his paws. His amber eyes flashed with worry. As his mate walked away he kept his eyes on her. He wouldn't let anything happen to Wildflower.
"Wildflower?" Brownfur said in confusion as she sat up. "The kits?" She guessed, opening her eyes wider.

"Foxpaw, get some moss that we can put under her. We don't want her to be uncomfortable." The she-cat took the little bit from outside her den and put it under the queen's head. But it wouldn't be enough to keep her comfortable.
Flameriver saw Brownfur and ran over. "Brownfur!" He called. Brownfur looked at him. "What's going on?"
"She's having her kits!" Brownfur replied, focusing on Wildflower. "Now go back out."
"Is she okay? Is everything going well?" Flameriver stood his ground. He had to know that Wildflower was all right.
"Yes, she's fine right now." Brownfur tried to calm Wildflower's worried mate. Of course, something could go wrong, but it wasn't likely.
Flameriver left the den but he remained right outside, pacing.
