"Will Wetkit, Dreamkit, Leopardkit, Dustkit, Fernkit, Rainkit, Kitekit, Shadekit and Poisonkit step forward, please." Wolfstar said loudly so all the kits could hear their names. "From this day forward, until you all have earned your warrior names these apprentices will be called Wetpaw, Dreampaw, Leopardpaw, Dustpaw, Fernpaw, Rainpaw, Kitepaw, Shadepaw and Poisonpaw. I will mentor Wetpaw, Moss will mentor Dreampaw, Dewwing will mentor Leopardpaw, Goldenspirit will mentor Dustpaw, Dawnshadow will mentor Fernpaw, Ghostmask will mentor Rainpaw, Flameriver will mentor Kitepaw, Fogpool will mentor Shadepaw and Darkfeather will mentor Poisonpaw."

After stepping up to touch noses with their new mentors, Rainpaw returned to her spot. She could see her siblings doing the same. But Fernpaw wasn't there to see her mentor! She wass till gone! Rainpaw shuffled to Leopardpaw and Dreampaw. "Fernkit-paw-is still gone!" She mewed quietly. What would Dawnshadow do when she saw that her new apprentice was gone?
Goldenspirit touched noses with Dustpaw and started to chant the new warriors' names.

Badgerpaw sat in the forest. His eyes gleamed with anger. He was still an apprentice! His head snapped up when he smelled another cat. He recognized the scent instantly "What are you doing here?" He growled.

[i hope dawn never comes.]

"What do you think, I'm leaving NicghtClan. I'm fed up with Wolfstar and the rest of the clan." Poisonpaw snapped angrily, "What are you doing here?" He growled the same question.

[It's Cherrytastic!]

Fernkit was starting to shiver from both cold and fear. Suddenly, a white blur pounced out from the bush the kit had been standing behind. Fernkit jumped, startled, but she didn't move a muscle. She had shut her eyes without realizing it. Slowly, she opened them again.
Standing in front of her a was a lithe white she-cat--definitely a warrior. She had amber eyes and a long striped tail. She didn't seem threatening--just a little startled that there was a kit where prey should've been. Fernkit relaxed.
"Who are you?" she inquired the new cat.
The white she-cat blinked. "The real question is, who are you? "
Nice comeback, Fernkit thought. "My name's Fernkit. Where am I?"
"You're in ForestClan territory. Quite close to the camp, might I add." The she-cat looked over her shoulder as if she were checking something.
"Hmm. That's interesting. I thought it smelled different." She took another breath of ForestClan. It smelled like NightClan, only a little lighter and leafier. "You still haven't told me your name," she added.
"It's Petalwing. What clan are you from?" Fernkit was pretty sure warriors could tell this kind of thing, but she answered anyway.
"I'm from NightClan. My mom's Streamshimmer. Do you know her?" This was a pretty nice cat. Maybe she'd be her first out-of-Clan friend.
"What?" Petalwing stopped to think for a moment. "Yes, I do. How'd you get here?"
"I don't know. I was looking for Leopardkit and Rainkit and Dustkit and Dreamkit. Do you know where they are?" Maybe if she knows Streamshimmer she knows my friends too. Fernkit looked around her. Here the forest was thinner and more pale leaf-bare sunlight made its way to the forest floor. She tried to imagine living here.

Hollyrush smiled and prodded her mother with a paw, "Let me go get him. Then you could speak." Mistycloud blushed ((if cats could blush...XD)) and turned to Darkfeather, realizing her daughter had purposefully left the two alone.
"My son is wonderful, I just wonder when he will recieve his full name," Mistycloud sighed and looked away from the sun, letting the bright light shine on her sleek fur.

Dewwing ran up to Leopardpaw and touched noses with her new apprentice. "We'll practice soon; promise!" she said excitedly.

Fogpool felt for Shadepaw's heartbeat and finally found it in the crowd of cats to touch his nose lightly. "We'll train soon, Shadepaw. You'll learn so many things about the forest." the older warrior said. Since I'm blind, I'll teach Shadepaw about feeling heartbeats and vibrations. Fogpool decided as she was padding back to Ghostmask. "When you are better," Fogpool said to her mate. "Wolfstar assigned you to be Rainpaw's mentor." she said softly.

Mosspath ran over to Dreampaw and touched her nose to hers. "We had a good adventure, and now I'm your mentor!" she mewed excitedly. "We'll practice soon." It was almost dark and Mosspath went to sit her vigil with the other two newly named warriors.

Wolfstar proudly padded up to Wetpaw and lightly touched his nose. "I may be the leader, but I'll act the same as any other mentor." she whispered. "Just with more responsability." the black she-cat laughed. She looked around the camp at all the mentors with their newly asigned apprentices. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven..." she counted. Then she counted again. "One, two, three, four, five, six, seven... Where's Fernpaw and Poisonpaw?"

((I would have not said Poisonpaw, but how could Wolfstar count him when he's out of camp too. He and Badgerpaw could start running when she sends warriors out to look for them. Somehow, she had to notice that Fernpaw was missing.))

(( She was in the emergency room for 4 hours last night, but she says she's fine ))

Fernkit sat patiently awaiting Petalwing's answer.
"Sorry, Fernkit, but I don't know those kits." The white she-cat shivered, her sleek white pelt not sufficient enough warmth for this cold of a storm. "Well, you might want to head back to your camp. Do you know the way?"
"It can't be too hard. Just turn around and keep walking until things smell all thick and foresty again." Fernkit paused to sniff the air around her. Still light.
"Guess I'll be seeing you then, Fernkit." Petalwing turned and began heading back.
The kit was left alone. She started to turn around to go back, but stopped. I wonder what ForestClan camp looks like. I'm sure Petalwing won't mind if I stay with her. Fernkit followed the warrior's fading pawsteps from behind the bare bush and through a thinning forest. Soon she saw the silhouette of a cat in the distance. She ran up, recognizing the she-cat.
"Hey, Petalwing."
The warrior jumped, turning to Fernkit. "Fernkit! Shouldn't you be back in NightClan? You said you could find it!"
"I never said I was going to find it," came the kit's smooth reply. "I want to visit ForestClan.
"You can't just do that!"
Fernkit cocked her head to one side. "I don't see why not. It's not like I'm going to do anything bad."
"So? It's just not...you can't...it's not allowed!" Petalwing was sounding flustered. Fernkit looked up and saw that they had come to the entrance to ForestClan camp.
"Whoa! There's ForestClan!" With that, Fernkit turned and began walking into the camp.
"No! Fernkit..." Petalwing's desperate plea did nothing to hinder Fernkit's advance.

"It'll be great for Foxpaw," Darkfeather said, "But that would mean losing Brownfur, who's an excellent medicine cat."
He paused thoughtfully.
"Still. Life goes on, I suppose. I'm sure he'll be great." He stood and arched his back, the fur along his spine bristling slightly as he stretched and claws digging into the ground. "I have to go pick up that rabbit, maybe we could hunt more. You can invite Hollyrush if you want to."

"I was under the impression they recieved their full name before their mentor died..." Mistycloud paused, "I'll invite her along, oh, here she comes with Foxpaw."
Hollyrush ran up with Foxpaw. "This is Foxpaw," she announced, "Foxpaw, this is our new friend, Darkfeather."

Lighty, after the cats with Greencough have healed, do you want Brownfur to take Fox to the Moonriver and give him his name?))


"Hunting," Badgerpaw lied easily. "And I'm fed up with them, too. Wolfstar won't make me a warrior and I've been training for moons. I think I am one of the best fighters in the Clan." He bragged. "Maybe it's my hunting. But I think you have a good idea. We don't need NightClan." He didn't turn to see Poisenpaw's expression when he said 'we'. A plan was beginning to form in his mind.

[i hope dawn never comes.]

"You do.." Poisonpaw said, "Well, yeah you're right. Who needs NightClan?" He spat in disgust.

[Golden]

"And, you know, other cats might not like NightClan either, even if they aren't from NightClan..." He hinted. "Or from any Clan." The tip of his tail was twitching with excitement. Maybe they could get revenge on the Clan who had angered them; maybe they could get help from cats like Blackear.

[i hope dawn never comes.]

His eyes widened, "Yes you're right!!!" Poisonpaw mewed almost yowled, "All we have to do is convince them!!!" The apprentince nodded his head smiling darkly.

[Golden]

"Exactly," Badgerpaw squinted his eyes, picturing the chaos the NightClan cats would soon face. "Just call me Badger," He muttered, dark laughter in his eyes. "And I've got someone in mind."

"Ok, Badger. I'm Poisonpaw." He mewed glaring towards the NightClan Camp, his eyes dark all he was thinking about was power, that's all that mattered.

[Golden]

"Hmm, would Badgerstar be better?" He said as though he were leader. "Then you can remain Poisenpaw. Or we could forget Clan names completely-you being Poisen and I Badger-though I'd still have leader authority, of course." He scoffed.

((Maybe Poisen and Badger could argue over who would have leader authority and settle on them both having it?))
