"Well, I did have a mother, and one sister too." Flower said trying with all her might to keep from crying. "My sister walked into the woods one day, a long time ago, and never came out again. My mother was taking me into the woods, yesterday, and while she was trying to get some food for me, I heard a scream, and when I finally found her, she was dead. after that I ran as far away from there as I could." Unable to keep from crying, Flower burst into body shaking tears.

Flower was suprised to find more cats as she and Goldenheart made their way along a trail. "How many cats are there Goldenheart?" She asked. These cats looked strong and well fed, unlike Flower's skinny little body. She moved behind Goldenheart more.

She pointed her tail to a den, the medicine cats' den. "Mosspaw will give you some herbs to help you feel well."

Goldenheart hurried over to the fresh kill pile and picked up a sparrow. "Here Flower." she said dropping it in front of her. "That mouse I caught won't be enough to keep your hunger down."
