Dewwhisker; annoyed by Lightpool's behavior of special treatment stomped off into the woods, not really caring wether she came along or not.

"Dewwhisker, come back!" Lightpool shouted, she began running after her with a huff. Her sister could be very plucky sometimes. Finally, she caught up. "You can run fast for a pregnant queen," Lightpool panted, "Where are you off too? You know your kits are coming any day now."

"I don't care," Dewwhisker mewed,"I'm not sure of anything anymore."
And with that she raced off, passed the magnolia and towards the stream leaving Lightpool behind in a cloud of underbrush.

"Wait! You can't just," she yelled, "leave..." She knew she had to leave her alone, she would ome back, the kit's would be born, and all would be well.

Dewwhisker ran through the terrirtory, the soft ground reminding her of simpler times. She padded up to a small brook and drank, suddenly remembering how thirsty she was, although she had never been this far from camp and nothing looked familiar from gatherings. Where was she? Suddenly Lightpool came into sight, or was that Lightpool, she couldn't tell...

Redmask purred as he padded into the warrior's den.

Duskpool purred. He was getting an apprentice! He went to congratulate Mousepaw, but his mind went somewhere else. He thought about Dawnstorm. She must be kind of sad about not having an apprentice anymore. He went over to her.
"Hey, Dawnstorm," Duskpool mewed happily. He paused, wondering why he was so happy, but he figured it was from his becoming a warrior and getting an apprentice.

Lightpool ran back to camp and slid into the warrior's den. "Redmaask," she mewed, "We have a problem. We need to go find Dewwhisker, her kits are due anyday, and she is lost somewhere in the forest!"

Dewwhisker was lost. She headed in ageneral direction and eventually found a rock she new she had passed. She sat down, her stomache now paining and lied there, she new that eventually someone would come, right?

Tigerpaw did the move eagerly, nearly losing his balance near the end.

Lightpool sprinted out of the den and knew that no matter what, she had to find her best friend.
"Dewwhisker!" Lightpool yelled, "ANSWER ME, please!" She ducked under the underbrush until she came to a clearing. Dewwhisker was lying on the ground yowling in pain. The kits were coming! "Dewwhisker! I'll get Smallshadow and the medicine cat! Stay here!" Lightpool dashed to the training hollow and found Smallshadow training with hjis apprentice.
"Smallshadow!" she yelped, "The kits are coming, hurry, follow me!"

Dewwhisker yoweled in pain as Lightpool left her sight. She knew that something was going to go wrong... five minutes later a kit was under her pelt, she licked it's pelt profusley but it's breathing would not come; the kit was dead, and two were alive. Suddenly she saw Lightpool enter the clearing. Would she blame her for her kit's death?

"Oh my gosh," Lightpool whispered, "I have to get you back to camp!" She began to panic when she saw the dead kit. "Are there more coming?"

Directly after she asked two small mewling kits came from behind Dewwhisker's pelt, eveything had happened so fast but at least two healthy kits were alive.
"You're a little late," Dewwhisker replied, "there already two minutes old."
She looked down at her kits lovingly, one had a chocolate pelt with one deep roan stocking on the left back foot and a deep roan right ear. The other was a dark sandy cream color with all four legs in a tabby pattern, as well as the tail.

"They are beautiful," Lightpool gasped and began licking them, "What will you name them?"
