Goldenheart gave her a small tour staying close to the camp. Goldenheart caught a mouse and showed the kit some more stalking techniques.

Poppykit caught on to them quickly. She would soon have a mentor.

"I hope that Silentstar gives me my mentor soon,"She said as they practiced stalking prey.

[Golden]

Goldenheart was surprised. It was as if the kit had read her mind. It started raining soon and they quickly headed back to the shelter of their dens. Poppykit in the nursery and Goldenheart in the warriors den.

Mosspaw hurried for shelter as the rain pounded the ground. She had taken a chaffinch from the fresh kill pile so she would not have to get any later. As she sorted herbs she listened to the rain. It had a pattern to it 'soft, harder, soft, harder' until she dragged herself to her nest and fell asleep.

Petalfall couldn't sleep that night. Runningmist had fallen asleep, and was ocasionally turning in his sleep. Petalfall felt as if her kits would come at any time. She tried thinking of names, but couldn't think of any good ones. She decided to eat the extra borage Berryfur had left for her. It made her a bit drowsy, and soon, Petalfall drifted into a deep sleep.

Runningmist was in NightClan next to his mate. He was there with Silentstar and Shadowstar's permission. His leader was not happy but allowed him to go. He had been sleeping peacefully but when he woke his head filled with thoughts of Petalfall. Was she O.K?

Petalfall awoke with a sharp pain in her belly. "Runningmist, wake up!" She quickly aroused Runningmist. "The kits! Get Berryfur!" The kits were coming. Hurry! Petalfall thought, Hurry!!

Runningmist woke up. Then he remembered, he was allowed to stay in NightClan for the night with Petalfall. He ran to the med. cats den. Where was Berryfur? He did not see the medicine cat. Keep looking, he told himself.

"I am here!" Mosspaw called out. Berryfur had been working late and was in the forest. She knew how to deliver kits and ran back with Runningmist to the nursery.

The two cats entered the den. Runningmist ran to his mate pushing his nose comfortingly to her fur.

Petalfall was in a huge amount of pain when Runningmist returned, but insted of Berryfur, he had Mosspaw. "Help!" she yowled and with that, Mosspaw started helping.

Runningmist did not know what to do. He wanted to help ease Petalfall's pain but he knew he could not. He licked her ear with soothing strokes.

Sensing the toms feelings she cried, "Just keep licking her it will calm her down!" The kits were almost there.

Runningmist was soothingly licking her ear. That made her feel safe and kow that whatever happened, everything would be alright because he was here.

Hearing the commotion Goldenheart ran to nursery. She did not enter just poked her head in. Mosspaw was there as well as Runningmist. "It's O.K.!" she told her friend. She then left, there was nothing she could do.

Runningmist pressed against her body. He quietly asked mosspaw, "Is she allright?"

"Yes! She will make it. Everything is going well!"

[runningmist]

He was relieved but reminded himself the kits were still to come. Mosspaw told him the first one was about there. He licked Petalfall again.
