Oh, wow, that sounded SOOOOOOO cheesy. And as you know, Shinepaw needs to be a warrior!! xDD so she can go run off with Bravesoul and have her kits. Ahh, love is wonderful... so hello beautiful, i'm burnin' up cuz i've got a crazy kinda crush on you, and don't forget that love is on its way, so won't you fly with me [tonight]? i'll never grow tired of all your games, so don't take my heart and put it on a shelf, because i can't wait six minutes or even a little bit longer before....

Swallowtail bounded out of camp to go hunting, but also with that sinking feeling that something bad had happened and she had to go find out what...

((She's missing her sister's ceremony, but you can rush back into camp with urgent news just as it is ending.))
Lightstar jumped up to the high rock and looked over her clan.
"All cats old enough to catch their own prey join under high rock for a clan meeting." She stood just as proud as the day she had become leader.
"Shinepaw has served as a loyal, yet hyper apprentice for many months, and I believe it is time for her to become a warrior." She smiled at her deputy's sister. "Shinepaw, will you please join me?"
Fireblaze frowned, "Nothing much. Bumblethorn and Mousetail have gone missing, they've probably gone out hunting together. Neither of them like camp very much. It is odd though, that I haven't seen them since yesterday. It's not like them to stay out all night." He gazed into the distance, eyes clouding with worry. "Sorry." He mumbled and lied down next to Foxwing and began grooming her coat.

Taking care not to fall of the cliff, Swallowtail made her way down to the bottom of the ravine. Rocks crumbled underneath her paws - making her wonder how easy it would be to fall of... or even jump off. But who would do that?
Her question was answered. On the shores of the stream lay a body, still and motionless. There was no blood, no clawmarks on him. This was not a murder, but a suicide.
Bumblethorn was dead. Lightstar was going to be heartbroken.
With her heart heavy, Swallowtail quickly bounded back to camp. She needed to announce the news.
Shinepaw stepped forward eagerly. Finally!

Shinepool's eyes blazed with an unseeable fire... finally, a warrior.
Swallowtail burst into camp, out of breath. Her face fell for a second - she'd missed her own sister's warrior ceremony. But she had business to do. "Uh, Lightstar," she said awkwardly. "Down by the cliff... it's Bumblethorn. Dead." She looked to her paws. "I'm so, so sorry."

"What?" Lightstar flew into the forest and down by the creekbed. Her beautiful daughter was lying there, cold and dead, just as Swallowtail had said.
She couldn't believe it.
Tears rolled down the once strong leaders cheeks.
Her innocent, perfect daughter was gone.
"Why, why?" She yowled out to the sky above her as it began to go black, "Why has she left me?"
Far into the night, after she had buried Bumblethorn herself, she trudged into camp and into her den. She would never be a good leader if she couldn't be a good mother.

Swallowtail was stunned. It was like each of Lightstar's kits were leaving her, one by one. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, barely finding the words to speak. It was like a nightmare... she was caught in it... how long would it be until Lightstar woke up?

Words came to Swallowtail's mind, the tune of them sounding like melodic notes of a birdsong. "If you love someone, and they break your heart," she started, unknowst to what she was saying, "don't give up, have faith, restart. Just hold on." If only there was a bird that could talk to them and sing it for her, or anyone, really. "Lightstar, you just have to keep going. StarClan knows what's best for all of us. Sometimes we just have to respect their decisions."
