The SmokeClan Roleplay - Book 3

Littlestream nodded and took in deep breaths. She pushed hard and soon had her first kit. She sighed as she licked her kit's fur dry. "My only kit," she meowed, still in a bit of pain. She thought of her mate and how he ight be watching her from StarClan. She pulled her kit in close to her body and fell asleep.

"Is everything alright?" Smallshadow meowed, poking his head into the nursery. He smiled when he saw his sister asleep with her kit. He licked the two of them and then padded off to have a nap himself.

Lightstar smiled and watched over the two cats for a while before padding out of the den. SmokeClan needed another strong warrior to help fight and provide food. It might take her a while to get there, but she'll grow up eventually. Lightstar jumped into her den and curled up in her nest. This is why I'm here, this is why Mudclaw brought me back. To experience such beautiful things that I'd overlooked so many times in the past. I wanted to go because I didn't know what was going on in my own clan. She closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep.

(( Is Mudcoat still there? Or did he go back to StarClan? ))

((This would be his last day. When she wakes updo you want him to say goodbye or to already be gone?))

Mudcoat crept into Lightstar's den, careful not to make too much noise. His golden eyes were drenched in sadness and he sat by his leaders' body, the tom opened his mouth to speak to the she-cat, "Lightstar, it's time for me to go." He said licking the leader's muzzle. Mudcoat turned around towards the mouth of the den and gave a sad smile. Mudcoat let out a long sigh before resting his head on his paws.

Lightstar lifted her head drowsily. "What?" She looked at Mudcoat curiously, then shook her head and let her vision stop blurring before she realized what sh had heard as she was waking up. "Wait, you can't leave yet! I need to...I need you! Please, Redmask. You can't leave me yet. It's not time!" Lightstar drooped her head towards the ground and watched her tears roll off her nose and into the dirt.

((Dawn, Lightstar needs to die soon, and I think Mudcoat, when he leaves, should take a few lives with him. Maybe three? Okayy.))

Mudcoat shook his head slowly, he couldn't find the words to tell Lightstar. His eyes watched her carefully, "I have to, when would it ever be the right time. I wonder if I'll ever be good at goodbyes, but I have to go. I don't want to, but I have to. My mission here is done." The brown tom whispred and licked Lightstar's ears, "What do you want me to do?" Mudcoat whispered softly, he didn't want to upset her anymore than he already had.

"I-I understand." Lightstar whispered. "I want you to take care of my daughter and the rest of the cats that need you in StarClan. I-I also want you to take care of me. When you go, try to take as much of me with you as possible. I don't want to be completely separate from where you are. Maybe I'll be with you again sooner." Lightstar choked on her tears and hid her eyes from her mate.

Mudcoat looked at Lightstar, confusion was clear on his face. What did she mean take as much of her with him when he left? And why was she saying she would be joining him in StarClan soon? Unless, she wanted him to take away some of her lives, but Mudcoat couldn't bear to do that to his mate, it wasn't fair. "Very well." The chocolate tom mewed dipping his head, "I guess I should get going." He said sadly, turning to go away. "Oh, yeah and Lightstar. . . I love you." He whispered before padding out of the leaders' den. Sadness was clear in his yellow eyes as he dashed away, he was bound for StarClan.

"Be good, Redmask," Lightstar sighed, "I love you too..." Watching him run out of the den and into the forest, away from her until she joined StarClan herself was hard. She blinked in pain and tried to stay strong like she knew he'd want, but she couldn't. Tears rolled quickly off of her muzzle and she wailed in agony, knowing he couldn't come back to soothe her pain. She rolled on the ground in pain, looking up at the sky, when suddenly the stars began to fall all around her...the sky was spinning and collapsing.
Figures moved in the distance, but she couldn't make them out as anything but cats. Am I dreaming?


((Have Redmask be there and take lives 9, 8, and 7.))

Redmask nodded his head as he slinked off into the forest. Sadness engulfed him as he made his wayback to StarClan. His chocolate colored pelt, morfed back into his reddish tabby one and then it began to fade become starry and his golden eyes changed back to brown. The tom was fading into stars as he was back in StarCan, he was suddenly brought back to Lightstar with some of his fellow StarClanners. He was here to take three of her lives. "Hello Lightstar." Redmask mewed as a faint smile traced his lips, "I'm here to take three of your lives." He whispered still staring at her.

"Thank you," Lightstar gasped. "The sooner the better. But I will spend my last six lives caring for my clan and preparing Swallowtail to become Swallowstar." She bowed to the StarClan cats, the ranks that she would one day join, the cats that would be with forever. Sadness clouded her eyes. When she got up here, could she watch over her clan?

[i hope dawn never comes.]

"Very well."Redmask's voice echoed through the hollows as the cats faded away into the sky. Redmask was glad Lightstar was going to be joining him soon, but he felt bad for taking way some of her lives. Even if she had wanted him to, Redmask felt that just because he was gone didn't mean that Lightstar had to go with him. He wanted his mate to be happy, but he didn't argue. The red tom would now watch over SmokeClan with all of his heart.

Love pulsed through Lightstar's body as she faded from her mates vision and began to wake up in the real world. It won't be long, love. I'll be with you soon. She had to talk to her deputy about the clan. Things hadn't gotten stirred up in a while, but she wanted to make sure the clan was ready for anything. "Swallowtail," she called, poking her head out of her den. "I need to speak with you."

[snowy.]

Swallowtail awoke to a sharp prodding movement in her side. "Swallowtail!" a voice said, "Lightstar wants you."

The she-cat groaned and slowly got to her paws, turning to face Shinepool. "Thanks," she said, stretching. "You've really grown up, you know."

"So I've been told," her little sister muttered, and bounded away right out of camp. Swallowtail didn't even question where she was going. She had matured. Shinepool hadn't acted like an immature kit for a while now.

Getting to her paws, the deputy padded across the clearing to Lightstar's den. "What's up?" she asked, a little too casually. She was speaking to the leader, not to Shinepool. She looked to her paws anxiously and waited for a response.

Lightstar blinked. It wasn't like Swallowtail to be so...casual with her. "I-I wanted to talk to you about something very serious. I went to StarClan last night. I had Redmask take three of my lives away. It's time for me to go, and I want you to be prepared. I know it seems overwhelming, but I have faith in you, Swallowtail. With my last six lives, I will prepare you and my clan for the end of my reign." She shuffled her paws. This probably wasn't what Swallowtail had wanted to hear...
